The replay editor allows you to compare multiple replays, as well as look at replays using freecam and slowmotion. It can also be useful if you are trying to improve on a track, since viewing your replays in more detail allows you to see what you did wrong. The three modifiable things in the replay editor are keys, tracks, and blocks. Blocks are the main structure of replays, being things such as ghosts or cameras. Keys are placed on blocks and can be used to gain more control over certain block parameters like time or camera position. Tracks are what blocks are placed on.
List of TMNF Replay Editor Blocks[edit]
- Triangles3D allows you to create a triangle in 3d space assigned to specific points in the world. This can be helpful for placing animations to assist the driver when done in the Mediatracker.
- Triangles2D places a flat triangle on the screen. They can be used for less complex animation.
- Camera Effect Shake adds camera shake to the replay. There are 2 parameters that can be modified: Intensity and Speed. Intensity controls how far the camera moves from its original position, and Speed controls how fast it moves.
- Transition Fade puts a solid color over the whole screen and has 2 parameters: Color and Opacity. Color changes what color the rectangle is and opacity controls how opaque it is.
- Trails add light coming out of the back of the car. It has no parameters and works on every car except for stadium.
- Camera Path is one of three camera blocks, and it moves the camera along a fixed path. There are 15 parameters in the camera path block. 10 parameters control the position and rotation of the camera. The other 5 are: Target, Anchor, AnchorVis, AnchorRot, and Weight. AnchorVis and Weight seem to have no effect.verification needed Target and Anchor are used for selecting which ghost the camera should point at (Target) and which ghost the camera should follow (Anchor). AnchorRot is a toggleable parameter to decide if the camera will turn with the anchored ghost or not.
- Camera Custom is a more complex version of camera movement, involving 21 parameters (16 positional). Target, Anchor, AnchorVis, and AnchorRot work the same as with Camera Path. The other non-positional parameter is Interpolation, allowing the user to decide how the camera interpolates between start and end positions.
- Camera Race is the simplest camera, and follows the car. There are 2 parameters: Camera and Target. Camera decides which camera angle is used and Target decides which ghost to follow.
- Fx Motion Blur is used to add motion blur and has no parameters.
- Fx Blue Depth has three parameters: Lens Size, Force Focus, and FocusZ. They seem to have no effect in some cases.verification needed
- Fx Bloom adds bloom to the screen, and has 2 parameters: Intensity and Severity. It seems to have no effect in some cases.verification needed
- Fx Colours allows color changes in certain hues. There are 2 modes, Near and Far. There are 11 parameters: Intensity, Distance, Inverse, Hue, Saturation, Brightness, Contrast, Red, Green, Blue, and BlendZ. It seems to have no effect in some cases.verification needed
- 3dStereo has 2 parameters: Separation and Screen dist. It seems to have no effect.verification needed
- Music Volume has 2 parameters: Sound volume and Music volume. Both are sliders allowing control over their respective setting.
- Text allows the user to put text on the screen. It has 9 parameters: TrackText, Color, PosX, PosY, Depth, Rot, ScaleX, ScaleY, and Opacity. TrackText is what specifies the text to be shown. All other parameters are self explanitory.
- Image displays an image on the screen. It has the same parameters as Text, but instead of typing in text you select an image.
- Sound plays a sound from a certain origin. It has 7 parameters: Music, Looping, Play Count, Volume, and 3 position parameters. Music and Looping both decide if the sound loops. Play count determines how many times. Volume controls how loud the sound is and the position determines where it came from.
