Overview of the TrackMania One - Alpine TimeAttack program from the Maniaplanet website

Program is a hosted Maniaplanet server running on a channel provided by Nadeo. It can be thought of as a TV programme on a TV channel.

Programs can be managed by users with the Program Manager, but they can be only scheduled by Nadeo community managers. Currently, it is unknown if programs can be scheduled again, as developer support has decreased for the Maniaplanet game.

Before a program is put on the channel, it can be tested on the specific episode in the Run test section.

Episode

Episode is a versioning system of the program. It allows the program manager to update the server with new maps, properties, and plugins. Initially, program begins with an episode S1 E1 (Series 1 Episode 1). With each update, an episode number increases. If the program creator wants to do larger changes, they can instead bump the series number, which resets the episode.

Server Plugins

A program can have specific server plugins enabled.

  • Feedback (Yes / No): Allows players to tell if they liked the map, and display the average note on 5 stars.
  • Feedback Stars: Allow players to give a 5 star notes and display them.
  • Online Records: Save and display online map rankings. Nadeo recommends it for Trackmania TimeAttack and it should work okay-ish for Laps, Rounds and Cup.

The backend of these plugins is hidden from public. Only program servers can provide them.[needed to verify]

Program Manager

Program Manager is the web UI where you can create or edit programs. You can choose from two channels: Trackmania Live and Shootmania Live. The creation of the program costs 500 planets.

Audience

There are two specific sections that no longer work: Trackmania Audience and Shootmania Audience. Those used to show the heatmap of player activity throughout the day, and it made the prime times more visible.
