Track Editor

The Track Editor allows you to create and edit your own tracks using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. You can share your completed tracks with your friends via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. (find out if this works)

In the Track Editor you can click Create, Load and Share. You aren't able to click on Load before creating, validating and saving a track on the Track Editor.

  • Track Editor Tutorial

Clicking on Create gives you the choice to view a Track Editor Tutorial. It is recommended for players new to Track Editing. The Track Editor Tutorial teaches you to create, validate and save a basic track.
Lesson 1: Camera Controls
1) Use (something) to move the Camera forwards, backwards, left and within the Building Area.
2) Hold down C and (something) to rotate the Camera Up/Down/Left/Right around the current focal point.
3) Hold down Z and move (something) Up/Down to change the level of zoom.
4) Press Up/Down on the D-Pad to change the height of the Camera. This will also change the level you are building on.
Lesson 2: The Block Box
1) Your Current Block is shown in the bottom-left corner of the screen. Point at this icon using the Wii Remote and press A to open the Block Box.
2) The Block Box provides access to available Building Blocks. Let's begin by selecting a Start Point - the block that marks the beginning of your track. Press A to continue.
3) Point at the Start Point using the Wii Remote and press A to confirm your selection.
4) Whilst you have a Block selected, you can change its height and angle of rotation using the D-Pad.
5) Point at your desired destination in the Building Area and press A to add the Block to your track.
6) In addition to a Start Point, all tracks require a Finish Point - the block that marks the end of your track. Open the Block Box.
7) Select the Finish Point.
8) Add the Finish Point to your track
9) Most tracks include one or more Checkpoints. These Blocks relay your race time when activated and provide a respawn point. Open the Block Box.
10) Select the Checkpoint.
11) Add the Checkpoint to your track.
Lesson 3: The Toolbar
1) Your Current Tool is shown at the bottom-right of the screen. Point at this icon using the Wii Remote to expand the Toolbar.
2) Available Tools are, from left to right, Select Block, Free Draw, Delete Block, Undo and Redo. Press A to continue.
3) The Select Tool allows you to modify any existing Block in your track. Choose the Select Tool from the Toolbar.
4) Select a block using the Wii Remote.
5) Block Manipulation icons are displayed to indicate a block is selected. These are, from left to right, Increase Height, Decrease Height, Move Block, Rotate Left and Rotate Right. Press A to continue.
6) To Move a Block: select Move Block, point at a new block destination and press A to Move the Block to the new location.
7) The Free Draw Tool allows you to quickly sketch a track outline using the Wii Remote. Select the Free Draw tool from the Toolbar
8) To start drawing a track, point at your desired start position and hold down A Move the Wii Remote Up/Down/Left/Right to guide track placement and release A to finish placing your track.
9) The Delete Tool allows you to remove one or more existing Blocks from your track. Select the Delete Tool from the Toolbar
10) Point at any block you wish to delete using the Wii Remote and Press A to remove it from your track.
11) Keep A held down to delete multiple blocks in a single operation.
Lesson 4: Testing your Track
1) You can test your track at any stage of development using the Test Track tool. Press 1 or select the Vehicle Icon to change your Current Block to a Vehicle.
2) Whilst you have a Vehicle selected, you can change its height and angle of rotation using the D-Pad.
3) Point at your desired destination and press A to begin testing your track.
4) Use Test Track to test parts of your track as you build them. When you are finished testing, press + to return to the Editor.

Press A to start testing your track.
Lesson 5: Validating your Track
1) Validation enables you to Race on a completed track and set Gold, Silver and Bronze targets. Before we attempt validation, we'll need to ensure our track is valid. Press A to Continue.
2) A point-to-point track is only valid if it has a Start and a Finish Point. It's a good idea to place a few Checkpoints too. Press A to Continue.
3) Create a track with 1 Start Point, 1 Finish Point and 3 Checkpoints.
4) When you are ready, press 2 to begin Validation.
5) The aim of each validation attempt is to reach the finish point as fast as possible using as few retries as possible. Press A to start your race attempt.
6) Target goals are automatically calculated when you cross the finish line. Note - You will be unable to race on your track via My Tracks / Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection until you validate it. Press A to continue.
Lesson 6: Saving your Track

2) Save your track to any available slot. (doing this gives u first valid track achievement and puzzle unlocked achievement)
3) Congratulations, you have completed the Track Editor Tutorial. You can view this Tutorial again at any time from the Help Menu - Press A to continue to the full-Editor.

Skill Points & Rank

i havent done any tracks, i just did the track editor tutorial, and i now am Rank 1 (Beginner) and have 1 SP. maybe cuz of the achievements i got? ive gotten 2/71 achievements. need to figure out how many achievements/or maybe something else is needed for ranking up, and what exactly gives SP (and how much)
SP can be gotten through medals, maybe gold medals specifically, tho not always. it can also be gotten through achievements, tho 1 achievement does not equal 1 SP, as i gained 2 achievements at once and got 1 SP.
Rank 0 - Newbie
Rank 1 - Beginner (2 achievements and nothing else is enough to get u there)

There are 71 total achievements.

at first if u havent played/beaten any tracks you can't buy any other tracks, they are all locked in the shop. theres more tracks to buy than in this table but i only have these unlocked. this table is unfinished.
all A5, B5, C5 and D5 tracks are in the shop, but E1 tracks aren't.
in the stadium block copper table, the ones marked locked are currently locked for me, so i dont know their cost. theres blocks to buy like this for every environment. this table is unfinished.
theres also a skin shop. when you start, the only skin you can buy (that are unlocked) is Skin5 of each car. but all the later ones (from Skin6 to Skin14) are locked and you can't buy them yet. didnt make this table yet.
