Trackmania Shows is a deprecated title pack by Nadeo. The title pack had an alpha test starting on 6 November 2019, a beta test starting on 11 November 2019, and fully released to all streamers with over 5000 followers on Twitch on 26 November 2019. Nadeo initiated the development of the title pack in July 2019.[1]
This title pack included the Follow Me gamemode that allowed streamers to further engage with their community. The streamer would record a run, and fans would have to follow the ghost as closely as possible.
This title pack was played by streamers like riolu, Wirtual, and Spam.[others?]
Gameplay[edit]
First, the streamer will build a track in the simple gamepad editor. Compared to Trackmania Turbo, the block selection in this version of the editor contains many obstacles and special blocks that can be used to make the leader ghost harder to follow. After the streamer finishes building the track, they record a leader ghost.
Next, a qualification starts. Viewers play the map in a time attack mode where they can freely retry runs until the time runs out. During this phase, players can earn tickets for the next phase by setting good scores, starting and holding combos, or by being subscribed on Twitch. Some tickets award bonus time during the final phase.
After the time limit runs out, the streamer runs a lottery. 3 tickets at a time are given to the streamer, and they can either pick one to play in the final or reroll for another set of 3 tickets. This means that if you scores more tickets during the qualification you have a higher chance of being rolled in the lottery, and therefore a higher chance of being picked to play in the final. The streamer must pick 4 different players to play in the final.
The final is played in a hotseat mode. The players picked in the lottery phase play, as well as the streamer at the end. First, the viewers play and try to get the best score before their time limit runs out, one at a time. They are free to reset their run at any time as long as they still have time remaining. Once their time runs out, they can either keep going and finish their current run or give up. After the viewers play, the streamer is given the option to play. They can choose to either play normally, with one run, or to not play. If the streamer chooses to play and wins, the viewers win 2x the tickets if played normally or 3x if played with one run only. If the streamer loses or chooses not to play, the viewers can win up to 10x their qualification tickets. Presumably during the lottery phase tickets from previous matches can be used. When the match is completed, the winner is able to write a message displayed on the streamer's stream.
Deprecation[edit]
The title pack is no longer functioning and has been privated from the title pack store. When opening the title pack, you are welcomed with an error message: "Error while getting shows, please try again."
Nowadays, there's barely any information published about this title pack. There was never an official forum post about it.[2]
There was a live shows page[3] which showcased the list of current Follow Me sessions.
