Init server is the initial web server hosted by Nadeo used to determine the master server to use by the game. There is always only one instance of an init server, except in Trackmania Turbo where there's one init server for every platform - PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The communication is done using Nadeo's proprietary standard via the XML protocol.
In Maniaplanet, there's an exception that the first request is not made to the init server. It first looks for the relay02 server, and if it fails, then it looks for the init server.
Init servers are no longer used for Trackmania 2020. The Ubisoft platform is considered the initial step for determining the Nadeo API audience.
