StadiumA2 is a track in TrackMania United Forever, set in the Stadium environment. The track is driven entirely on dirt and consists of a single right-hand turn followed by several left-hand turns. Despite its simple intended layout, StadiumA2 has developed a rich and complex world record history due to the presence of major shortcuts.
World Record History[edit]
From very early on, StadiumA2’s competitive play diverged sharply from its intended route. Due to a complete lack of checkpoints, players quickly realized that large portions of the track could be bypassed entirely.
The shortcut was first recorded publicly on TMX on 18 May 2008 by Sd.Marci, who drove a time of 18.04. This early version of the shortcut was relatively unrefined and saved significantly less time than later optimizations, but it established the foundation for all future records.
Over time, the shortcut became so dominant that virtually all competitive players began ignoring the intended route entirely. On the official leaderboards, well over a thousand players use the shortcut, often saving enough time to beat the author medal with ease.
Continuous refinement eventually led to extreme optimization of the route. This culminated on 9 August 2023, when the player Yiker! performed a highly precise bugslide up the hill, threading the car through a narrow gap between a cactus and surrounding geometry. The run concluded with a bugfinish on the top panel of the finish block, resulting in a time of 14.69. This broke the previous world record of 14.90 held by Kripke, which did not utilize a bugfinish.
Yiker!’s record was widely considered close to unbeatable. However, after extensive hunting, the player J-Swag managed to replicate and further optimize the bugfinish route. On 13 March 2025, J-Swag set a new world record of 14.56.

The TAS for StadiumA2 closely mirrors the real-time world record route. Rather than introducing a fundamentally new strategy, the TAS refines existing optimizations, executing the shortcut, bugslide, and bugfinish with near-perfect precision. [1]
