Coppers are the currency used in TrackMania: Build to Race and TrackMania United Forever.

Coppers, as seen in TrackMania United Forever

Earning

In TrackMania: Build to Race, Coppers are earned by beating medals in Single Player Mode; 10 from Bronze, 15 from Silver and 25 from Gold.

In TrackMania United Forever, Coppers are earned by beating medals in the Solo Campaigns, specifically by submitting times to the Nadeo servers via Official Mode. Coppers can also be earned by logging in every day, as a lump sum after not logging in for a week, or for creating a new account.

Usage

In TrackMania Original Coppers are used as a budget for building a track, the more coppers you earn from playing the game and beating races etc. the more blocks you can place in the Editor, this limit can also be bypassed with custom Save files.

In TrackMania: Build to Race, there is a shop where you can spend Coppers earned in Single Player mode to purchase new Race Tracks, Editor Blocks and Vehicle Skins.

In TrackMania United Forever, Coppers are the user currency, and can be used to purchase from ManiaLink shops, send mail/gifts, purchase Tags, change your Zone, download maps from My Campaign, and attempt Official Times.

Miscellaneous

A couple of exploits to gain Coppers have been performed over the years, most famously Laiteux who reportedly exploited the game to obtain the integer limit worth of Coppers, although not much more about this is known. Selling coppers for real money has often been frowned upon however it is still possible using external websites.

Certain Servers have the ability to gamble using plugins with rudimentary versions of card-games such as Texas hold-em. and Black Jack.
