The Snow environment was created with the release of TrackMania Original in 2003, and features the Snowcar.
The snowcar has also been added to TMUF and Trackmania 2020, it is also known as "Alpine" in the games code, you can also see this in certain previews of a Track on servers.
When driving on the snow surface with the snowcar in TMNF or TMUF, the max speed driving forwards is 500km/h, and backwards -30km/h. On normal road, the max speed forwards is 1000km/h and backwards -150km/h. The snowcar is known for its ability to accelerate to max backwards speed on road in just over a second.
The Snow Car in TrackMania United Forever & TrackMania Original has a notoriously strange hitbox due to the fact a small sphere hitbox which is near enough on the ground was left attached to vehicle, causing the car to jolt and bug on various surfaces, as well as from jumping or dropping from any height.

A mod has been created which actually removes said hitbox to match alongside the Trackmania 2020 Snow Car's hitbox. (which also on release also had the extra sphere on release)
The Snow Environment is also home to surface that is unique to Snow in TMUF, having also been present in TrackMania Original, That being Ice. Ice has some strange properties allowing for some unique interactions to happen between the Ice and the car, besides the low amount of friction, including the following:
Ice "Zoop" - A slang term used to define the car gaining speed after taking a booster, then swiftly transitioning to ice and turning the car almost fully to the left/right, resulting in a speed boost from the booster duration having not fully been completed, you gain a boost on the ice. By turning the car to then face the front afterwards you can keep the speed going the way you were initially facing.
Ice Clip - Most Notably Present on SnowA4, it is the action of dipping a wheel(s) of the car off the edge of a patch of ice briefly, for it to then return to the surface due to the car momentum carrying the wheel over the gap. The car in the case of SnowA4, whilst travelling backward, will then lift up a number of its wheels and increase in speed (this being due to the fact that if the Snow Car is reversing the speed limit of 150 does not apply. This can also be seen in the TAS of PuzzleB4). This technique can also be performed whilst going forwards, not just backwards.
Suspension Tricks are also things that you can do to avoid speed loss and awkward landings.
